Sometimes, it’s hard to tell if what you’re thinking, feeling, or doing is part of a logical response to your circumstances, or a sign something more. The good news is, you don’t have to know the answer. You just have to ask for help.

Decatur Morgan Hospital West Campus was created for individuals dealing with the often challenging realities of maintaining psychiatric health. As a first step, we offer a detailed, confidential Assessment and Referral Service to help you determine the appropriate level of care.

These assessment and referral services are designed to help you locate the mental health services best suited to your individual needs. Common issues requiring treatment include:

Thinking Problems

  • Strange beliefs, fears, etc.
  • Racing thoughts
  • Extreme Confusion
  • Hallucinations
  • Memory Lapses
  • Poor Concentration

Feeling Problems

  • Depression
  • Excessive, Constant Worry
  • Helplessness/Hopelessness
  • Lack of interest or enjoyment in usual activities
  • Euphoria/Excessive Moodiness
  • Grief

Behavior Problems

  • Hyperactivity
  • Impulsivity Verbal and/or physical aggression
  • Parent / adolescent conflicts
  • Sleep and appetite disturbance
  • School Difficulties
  • Trouble getting along with others

When someone calls who needs immediate help with emotional or mental health problems, our well-trained staff can assess the situation and suggest a course of action. If we are not able to offer the services needed, we will make an appropriate referral offered at no cost or obligation.

Anyone can make a referral. Referrals are accepted from any source throughout the community, including family members, physicians, Department of Human Resources, Mental Health Centers, community agencies, juvenile probation officers, schools and other Mental health Professionals.
